 At-risk
teens face a myriad of difficulties, such as drug abuse and self
esteem issues, on a daily basis. Unfortunately, due to the
deterioration of the family unit, they are wholly unprepared to
face and resolve these issues. Often, their lack of preparation
results in a downward spiral into vagrancy, crime, and drugs.
They are in dire need of life-skills education, and the ARISE
program has sought to fill that need. In fact, they have
published over 100 books, videos, and posters on over 260
essential life-skills which the University of Miami
“recommend(s)…be viewed as a model for other communities…"
These lessons are
designed to capture the student’s attention and ensure maximum
retention. Furthermore, the lessons are specifically designed
for individuals facing multiple obstacles, such as a low reading
level. Each course includes a clear and user friendly
Instruction Manual and easy to read, age-appropriate Learner’s
Workbooks filled with engaging activities. Every youth has the
potential to lead a successful, fulfilling life –ARISE provides
them with the necessary tools and skills realize their dreams.
